2025.10.02 Iowa's EWS/MTSS News: Panorama training, math status, FastBridge updates and more

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Welcome to October! Below is a mix of action items, reminders, learning opportunities and updates.

Post-screening window actions

For teachers, it’s time to set up monitoring and intervention for students, as appropriate. The guide What Next? Setting Up Progress Monitoring and Interventions can assist with understanding what to do and where to do it.

For leaders, the Healthy Indicator reports provide an opportunity to review and act on data at various systems levels. New functions have been added for 2025-26 that include options to drill-down to related student level reports!

Training opportunities for Panorama Student Success: New navigation and HI reports

Panorama Student Success has been updated. Three sessions are available to learn about the updated platform along with the new Healthy Indicator reports. This is the same content, just repeated each day. Attendees will learn to:

  • Navigate the refreshed platform using updated menus, global search, quick filters, and saved views
  • Locate and interpret Healthy Indicator reports at the student, group, school, and district levels
  • Connect indicator insights to intervention planning and progress monitoring.

FastBridge and Panorama Student Success user role cleanup October 17

Ed Portal, FastBridge and Panorama do not currently process deleted or ended user role assignments from the district student information system. Instead, we periodically remove and reload all user permissions to get rid of ones that no longer exist to prevent inappropriate access to data. This year that process will begin October 17.

   Action required:

Student information system managers and school leadership should review what user roles are available, which staff need them and then remove obsolete user roles and assignments from their student information systems and ensure staff primary email addresses are accurate.

See instructions and details in this article

   When:

User role cleanup is scheduled to occur after hours on Friday, October 17 in the Iowa Education Portal (Ed Portal). The FastBridge and Panorama part of the process will likely be in the week following the Ed Portal cleanup.

Notes on mathematics and literacy status filters

  • The Mathematics Status filter will be available on reports in Panorama Student Success at the end of October. It is already available in the Healthy Indicator (HI) reports.
  • The Literacy Status filter is temporarily unavailable in the Healthy Indicator report, but remains available in all other reports. This filter is expected to be available in the HI report views at the end of October.

Group proctor (Proctor) role discontinued

Renaissance (FastBridge) has discontinued the Group Proctor user role within FastBridge. New users will not see it nested under their regular role, nor can it be assigned as a stand-alone role. Users with access prior to this school year may see the “Proctor” link temporarily, but it will be removed during the upcoming role cleanup in EdPortal and FastBridge.

The FastBridge knowledge base and support has moved

With the user interface updates, it takes a bit more navigation to get to the FastBridge Knowledge Base/Iowa Resources, and getting direct support has changed a bit.

Getting to the knowledge base:

  • Click the ? in the upper right corner of FastBridge
  • Select FastBridge on the Renaissance Ecosystem page
  • Scroll down to click Iowa Resources or enter search terms in the box

Getting user support:

Email iowafastbridgehelp@renaissance.com for assistance. Please do not submit a support ticket using the “Contact Us” link in the knowledge base, or any chat or phone option you may see available.
