2025.07.15 Important July Updates

Happy July. The 2025-26 school year is quickly approaching and there are a couple of important items to consider before August arrives. 

• ACTION REQUESTED: Verify that the mathematics assessments you plan to use for 2025-26 are on the 2025-26 mathematics approved list to ensure you have time to plan for any changes.

• HF 784 (Math Counts Act) was signed on June 2, 2025 and went into effect on July 1, 2025. The act requires that the department develop and publish a list of approved mathematics universal screening and progress monitoring assessments for grades K-6. Please click here for the list of 2025-26 mathematics approved assessments.

• Just a reminder that the FastBridge rollover process is fully automated and the Iowa Department of Education support team handles the majority of the setup for the new school year in FastBridge for you. No action is needed for FastBridge rollover. Please do not make changes to settings for the screening periods, assessment setup or Roster Sync. You may cause damage to your district setup by making changes to any of these settings. Make sure all of your staff with district manager permissions understand this.

• EdPortal is currently processing 2025-26 roles and assignments. Your SIS must also be sending 2025-26 data (SIF rolled over) and user roles must be assigned.
